Spectrum’s training, technical assistance and consulting group provides customized education and training services to private providers, municipalities and public-sector agencies. Offerings range from brief information sessions geared to the general public to half-day, full-day, and multi-day training options for professionals working in the field.

Our experienced trainers utilize a variety of training strategies including didactic, interactive presentations, experiential and skill-building exercises, observations, and technical assistance. All training services are tailored to the needs of the target audience. Continuing education credits may also be provided for trainings, if applicable.

Our trainers include:

Lisa Blanchard, MA, LMHC is a skilled clinician with years of experience in behavioral health administration, including medication for substance use disorders, new program development, and electronic health records implementation. Currently, she serves as Spectrum’s Chief Clinical Officer. Ms. Blanchard also oversees training for the organization and provides training, education, and technical assistance services to other agencies, providers, and local communities.  Ms. Blanchard was trained as a NIATx process improvement coach and has served as a NIATx coach and national presenter. She has worked as a consultant, presented at the national level on a variety of topics, and currently co-hosts Spectrum’s popular Airing Addiction podcast. Ms. Blanchard holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology with a concentration in cognitive behavioral therapy.

Rachel Sasseville, LICSW, LADC-I is the Director of Corporate Training at Spectrum Health Systems. She has worked in the field of addiction treatment for twelve years and has a special interest in adolescent substance use and prevention. Ms. Sasseville has held roles with Spectrum since 2016, previously as Senior Clinician at Spectrum’s largest outpatient opioid treatment program, and later as Clinical Program Director in one of Spectrum’s other outpatient programs. In her role as Director of Corporate Training, she works with program leadership to develop comprehensive staff training plans to ensure clinical staff competency. In addition, Ms. Sasseville coordinates and oversees trainings provided by the Spectrum Educational Institute.
