Worcester, MA – November 10, 2016 – Spectrum Health Systems, the largest private non-profit substance abuse and mental health treatment provider in New England, hosted its 15th Annual Charity Golf Classic on Monday, October 3 at the Framingham Country Club. Nearly 125 golfers participated in the event, raising $68,593 in support of Spectrum’s continuum of addiction treatment services.
Participants spent the day on the golf course and enjoyed a barbeque lunch, followed by a dinner reception featuring live and silent auctions. Spectrum’s CEO Kurt Isaacson also spoke about the prevalence of the opioid epidemic and the important work Spectrum is doing to help treat those with a substance abuse disorder. Former clients living successfully in sobriety also shared their personal stories of addiction and recovery.
“There has never been a time that addiction has been so pervasive in our communities. The work we do every day is so important,” said Isaacson. “The generous contributions of our donors who attended this event affords us the capability to provide the high quality of care that is required to treat those struggling with an addiction disorder. The energy is inspiring and the participation in this event is much appreciated.”
