Spectrum Health Systems Inc. Welcomes Andrew Salmon as Board Chair

Published On: February 26th, 2020

Spectrum Health Systems Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a comprehensive continuum of addiction treatment throughout Massachusetts, today announced the appointment of its new Board Chair, Andrew Salmon. Previously a Trustee, Mr. Salmon will help direct new initiatives as Board Chair while guiding Spectrum in its efforts to bring addiction treatment resources and education to the various communities it serves.

“Andrew brings a wealth of knowledge that will be extremely valuable to our work at Spectrum,” said Kurt Isaacson, president and CEO of Spectrum Health Systems. “He’s worked in health care for his entire career and spent most of that time in management and directorship roles. We’re excited to welcome someone who is so talented at bringing people together and has such great experience and personal connections to the work that we do.”

Salmon has over 20 years of experience in the health care industry. He served as Executive Director at SALMON Health and Retirement and within Genesis HealthCare before assuming his current position as Director of Network Development at SALMON Health and Retirement. In both roles, Salmon oversaw day-to-day operations and managed assisted living facilities, adult health programs, and childcare education centers at SALMON’s Northridge campus.

“I am excited and honored to be able to take on this role at Spectrum,” said Salmon. “Addiction treatment is a vital and evolving part of health care, and I hope to use my relevant management experience to help advise and guide Spectrum into a new era of addiction treatment. One that is good for the people we serve, those that love and care for them, and our amazing staff.”

When it comes to health care, Salmon understands that there needs to be a multipronged approach, tying in education, access to medical care and treatment, and support from one’s community. Passionate about his work in the city, he supports other medical and treatment centers, including the Milford Regional Medical Center and the Reliant Foundation – both of whom have been partners in Spectrum’s efforts to expand access to addiction treatment.

Additionally, Salmon has been a guest lecturer for Brandeis University’s MBA program. In 2014, he served on Governor Baker’s Health Care Transition team and is very active in the nonprofit world, serving on many critical boards throughout Massachusetts.

Spectrum Health Systems celebrated its 50th anniversary as a nonprofit in Massachusetts last spring.
