Spectrum Health Systems, Inc., a longtime not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing a comprehensive continuum of addiction treatment throughout Massachusetts, has announced that its North Adams, Mass. outpatient treatment center, located at 1274 Curran Highway, is now accepting clients insured by Vermont Medicaid. The North Adams facility provides medication-assisted treatment coupled with group therapy and educational sessions to individuals struggling with addiction.
“We’re pleased to be able to accept new clients who are insured through Vermont Medicaid at our North Adams outpatient facility as we continually seek ways to improve access to treatment for all,” said Kurt Isaacson, president and CEO, Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. “As the opioid crisis continues to impact most every community, it’s increasingly important to expand our offerings to as many people with various insurance plans as possible. We look forward to working with Vermont Medicaid to provide much-needed treatment to its beneficiaries.”
Vermont Medicaid covers medical care for seniors 65 and older, children, deaf, blind and disabled people, pregnant women and low-income residents. The Green Mountain State’s signature insurance plan covers doctor visits, hospital care, prescriptions, vision and dental care, long-term care in a nursing home or at home, physical therapy and more.
Spectrum Health Systems offers a full continuum of addiction treatment services including inpatient detoxification, residential rehabilitation, medication-assisted treatment, outpatient counseling and peer recovery support throughout Massachusetts.
Vermont’s Health Commissioner Mark Levine, MD is pleased with Spectrum’s decision to provide medication-assisted therapy services to Vermont residents in the Bennington County area.
“This is tremendous news. We have been working with providers and state leaders, including State Senator Dick Sears, to identify a partner that can fill the gap in services in this part of the state,” said Dr. Levine. “Spectrum’s commitment helps to ensure that the people of Bennington County who want and need this highly effective form of treatment will be able to get it close to home.”
In addition to Vermont Medicaid, Spectrum Health Systems also accepts Blue Benefit, Beacon Health Solutions, BMC, Anthem, Centpatico/CeltiCare, CIGNA, Commonwealth Care All, Department of Public Health, Fallon, Health New England, Health Plans Inc., Harvard Pilgrim, Mass Laborers, Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership, Medicaid, Medicare, Neighborhood Health Plan, TriCare, Tufts, UniCare, United Behavioral Health, United Health Care and more.
