Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. Announces New Host of WTAG’s Airing Addiction

Published On: May 26th, 2017

Worcester, Mass. – May 26, 2017 – Spectrum Health Systems Inc., a longtime not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing a comprehensive continuum of addiction treatment throughout Massachusetts, announces the new host of its popular weekly radio show and podcast, Airing Addiction. Jodi Tarantino, LICSW and program director of residential services at Spectrum’s Charles J. Faris Recovery Center, will officially begin as host on May 27, on WTAG in the 10 a.m. slot.

Tarantino has worked in the addiction treatment field for nearly 15 years. She joined Spectrum Health Systems in 2014 and helped launch a new statewide residential treatment program for adolescent boys with substance use issues. In 2016, she assumed her current position at the Faris Recovery Center in Westborough, where she now oversees 104 residential treatment beds serving both men and women.

“I am excited to take to the airwaves,” said Tarantino, who replaces Donna Pellegrino, former vice president of business development. “I’ve always been interested in radio broadcasting, and being able to help people struggling with addiction and mental illness through Airing Addiction is a dream come true. We’ve had many clients enter treatment after listening to Airing Addiction, and I hope to motivate others to do the same. I’m also excited to hear what topics listeners would like us to discuss on the show.”

Airing Addiction was launched on WTAG/iHeart Radio in Worcester in July 2016, and launched on SoundCloud and iTunes in January 2017. The show airs every Saturday at 10 a.m. on WTAG. Previous guests include Worcester District Attorney Joe Early; Sam Quinones, author of Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic; Spectrum’s chief medical officer; and former clients and family members impacted by addiction.
