Published On: February 8th, 2021

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc., a longtime not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing a comprehensive continuum of addiction treatment throughout Massachusetts, announced today that Judy Bazinet will lead the organization’s inpatient treatment program in Weymouth, Mass. Bazinet brings valuable experience in social work, criminal justice, and nursing as a Master’s level licensed clinical social worker.

“Judy will be a great asset to the team and addition to the Spectrum family,” said Kurt Isaacson, President and CEO of Spectrum Health Systems. “She has worked one-on-one with people suffering from substance use disorders for many years, tailoring treatment plans for each individual – which is a cornerstone of Spectrum’s model. Her clinical experience aligns strongly with our work in outpatient care.”

Bazinet’s professional experience includes her time as a licensed independent clinical social worker and drug court clinician with MHM Services in Westborough, Mass. Working in conjunction with judges and probation officers, Bazinet supported clients in navigating the challenges associated with mental health and substance use disorders. Additionally, she worked alongside the Massachusetts Adult Drug Court program to evaluate and assess operations, ensuring compliance with standards set forth by the Bureau of Justice Administration.

Bazinet has also served as a licensed independent social worker with the Suffolk County House of Correction at Naphcare Inc., a provider of correctional healthcare services in Boston. With caseloads as high as 100 clients, she provided individual therapy using evidence-based practices to treat addiction and other mental health disorders. While at Naphcare, she was also a crisis clinician, assessing clients on suicide watch and conducting mental health evaluations, psychosocial assessments, and psychiatric diagnosis.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Spectrum Health Systems at its Weymouth center and leading the team of incredible clinicians and nurses,” said Bazinet. “Spectrum has provided top-notch, evidence-backed treatment for 51 years and I look forward to helping the company continue its important work in helping combat the disease of addiction.”

Bazinet earned her Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Science in Social Work at Bridgewater State University.
