Published On: March 3rd, 2022

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc., a not-for-profit organization providing a comprehensive continuum of addiction treatment in Massachusetts and specialized programming for justice-involved individuals throughout the country, announced today notable promotions for eight members of its senior leadership team, better positioning the provider for continued growth and expansion.

“Our employees are the backbone of the programs and services that help our clients reach their goals on the road to recovery,” said Kurt Isaacson, President and CEO of Spectrum Health Systems. “We are aligning senior staff in a way that will allow us to continue growing our team and services to meet the needs of the changing healthcare landscape, and better reflect the broader scope of responsibilities these employees now assume.”

Through these moves, Spectrum Health Systems is well prepared to face the increasingly complex and frequent initiatives spearheaded by state and local governments, insurers and accountable care organizations while remaining competitive in today’s challenging employment market.

The promotions include:

  • Kristin Nolan to Chief Behavioral Health Officer to provide executive oversight of the company’s full continuum of treatment.
  • Christopher Petrozzi to Chief Organizational Development Officer to provide executive oversight of Spectrum’s strategic planning, compliance, and quality improvement activities.
  • Stacy Flanagan to Chief Human Resources Officer to provide executive oversight of employee relations, recruitment, retention, and training.
  • Lisa Blanchard to Chief Clinical Officer to lead the establishment of clinical policies, standards of care, evidence-based practices, and company-wide clinical development training program.

  • David Nefussy to Vice President of Payor Relations to negotiate agreements with managed care organizations, third-party payors, and private insurance companies, while overseeing all contracting, credentialing, network management and provider relation activities.

Spectrum Health Systems has experienced significant growth over the past few years. In 2021, the treatment provider served more than 14,000 clients across its inpatient and outpatient programs and its employee base grew to more than 1,000. With 15 outpatient centers available, serving approximately 6,300 clients each day, and 295 inpatient beds, it is the largest provider of addiction treatment in the Commonwealth.

The company recently opened multiple new centers, including its rapid-access treatment program in Framingham, Mass. The company has also entered innovative new partnerships, such as its digital therapeutics work with Tufts Health Plan and Pear Therapeutics and its latest contract with the Massachusetts Department of Correction that provides medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) treatment to inmates across the state.
