WESTBOROUGH, Mass. – A local health care system was not only able to vaccinate their staff, but workers from other area non-profits as well on Friday.

Spectrum Health said they wanted to help organizations with employees who are patient facing and may not be able to receive vaccines on their own.

They’re vaccinating employees at their Westborough campus.

Spectrum shares patients with many of the organizations, including Aids Project Worcester, the Hector Reyes House, and Veterans Inc.

“They didn’t want to have to close their doors, they really were driven by their mission and wanted to continue their services but they did not see a way to get their staff vaccinated. So when we reached out they were very welcoming and very appreciative,” said Dr. Jeff Baxter, Chief Medical Officer for Spectrum Health System.

Spectrum Health expects to vaccinate nearly 700 people.
