Published On: December 14th, 2022

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc., a not-for-profit organization providing a comprehensive continuum of addiction treatment throughout Massachusetts, announced two new hires today, continuing the growth of its leadership team. Athena Haddon re-joins the team as Executive Director of Peer Services and Recovery Support, and Alicia Hashey comes on board as Controller for the accounting department.

“I’m delighted to welcome Alicia to Spectrum, and to welcome back Athena, who initially started her career with us back in 2008,” said Kurt Isaacson, President, and CEO of Spectrum Health Systems. “Both will be leaders in their new roles, helping to ensure our organization continues its growth – whether that be monetarily or through the quality of services we offer our clients. Both have tremendous expertise and experience to lead their respective programs and departments effectively.”

Haddon and Hashey each bring over 10 years of experience in their particular industries and their leadership and team management skills will serve them well as Spectrum continues to grow.

Haddon began her journey at Spectrum as a Program Director of the Everyday Miracles Peer Recovery Support Center where she lent members unique perspective and understanding as a woman in recovery herself. As Executive Director, she will oversee all of Spectrum’s peer recovery centers, located in Worcester, Lawrence and Marlborough, Massachusetts and will supervise the program directors at each location. Haddon will also be responsible for growing Spectrum’s alumni program and services, in addition to its recovery coaching offering. Haddon resides in Worcester, Massachusetts and is a graduate of Springfield College where she received her BS in Human Services.

Hashey began her career in Kansas City as an insurance auditor and moved to Massachusetts to transition to finance and accounting. She has over 10 years of experience working in the field and as Controller will manage the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, working with program directors and agencies to identify financial control procedures and policies. Hashey resides in Worcester, Massachusetts, and is a graduate of Worcester State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Accounting. Hashey also holds a master’s degree in Accounting from Fitchburg State University.

Haddon and Hashey’s expertise and hands-on experience will help guide their departments and aid in the growth of the entire Spectrum organization.
