Spectrum Health Systems Announces New Outpatient Treatment Center in Worcester

Published On: November 12th, 2024

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc., a leading nonprofit organization providing a comprehensive continuum of addiction treatment and behavioral health services, today announced the upcoming opening of its new outpatient treatment facility at 1023 Main Street in Worcester. The center will both welcome new clients and consolidate two of the organization’s Worcester-based outpatient services to one location, with Pleasant and Merrick Street locations closing at the end of business effective Friday, November 15. Its Lincoln Street center will remain open.

“As active members within the Worcester community, we believe this new facility is both timely and necessary,” said Kurt Isaacson, president and CEO of Spectrum Health Systems. “1023 Main Street will be a critical resource to the community, providing a safe and more accessible location for individuals seeking recovery services, helping continue to curb the tragic consequences of substance misuse in the city.”

Spectrum’s data-driven approach aims to reduce barriers to treatment, such as transportation challenges and long wait times – issues that often prevent individuals from accessing the care they need. The new facility will offer ongoing outpatient counseling and medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) treatment, including methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone.

“This new location will help us eliminate one of the greatest obstacles to accessing treatment: getting there,” said Heidi DiRoberto, regional executive director at Spectrum. “Many of our Worcester clients currently have to commute long distances, sometimes taking multiple buses, just to receive treatment. 1023 Main Street will make it easier for Worcester residents to access care, especially for those who need it most.”

The 1023 Main Street center will be open to clients Monday – Saturday, beginning on Monday, November 18, from 5:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and closed on Sundays. To celebrate, Spectrum Health Systems invites the community to its open house on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. The event will offer an opportunity to tour the new facility and meet program leadership before its official opening.
