Published On: January 30th, 2020

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc., a longtime not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing a comprehensive continuum of addiction treatment throughout Massachusetts and its subsidiary the New England Recovery Center (NERC), an addiction treatment center located in Westborough, Mass., announced today the appointments of Catherine Collins as a Regional Business Development Liaison and Marybeth Adams as Program Director of NERC’s detox and residential programs.

Collins, who joined last August, reports to VP of Business Development, David Nefussy, and is responsible for promoting NERC services, maintaining business relationships, and working with local hospitals, clinicians and other referral sources to help facilitate admission to NERC for their patients. Adams is returning to NERC, where she formerly worked as a clinical supervisor for the detox and residential programs. Adams will now oversee clinical staff, client relations and overall program strategy and growth.

“Catherine and Marybeth are welcome additions to our fantastic team,” said Kurt Isaacson, president and CEO of Spectrum Health Systems and New England Recovery Center. “They truly understand the needs of our clients and are incredibly knowledgeable and experienced in the industry. We’re excited to have both Catherine and Marybeth on board.”

Collins has extensive background in addiction treatment, having worked with facilities across New England including Tharros House, a men’s sober house in Lexington, Mass.

“I’ve seen firsthand how addiction has affected our communities,” said Collins. “It’s my personal goal to see that everyone who needs addiction treatment has a bed ready for them. I’m thrilled to be a part of the Spectrum team.”

Adams has a long history in the addiction treatment field and is returning to work at NERC, after leaving to gain experience at other recovery centers, including Washburn House and SpringHill Recovery Center. Previously, she served as clinical supervisor at NERC, overseeing the detoxification and residential programs. Adams also held previous roles with Spectrum, serving as driver alcohol education program coordinator, an outpatient clinician, and a facilitator for the domestic violence intervention program.

“Spectrum is a great company in which to work because they support staff at every level,” said Adams. “The management here is second-to-none. I’ve always felt connected to Spectrum and NERC and to be able to come back in this capacity is a great fit.”

In addition to her new role, Adams currently works in her own private practice as a mental health therapist in Worcester.
